Princeton Book Company, Publishers is a 35-year-old company specializing in dance books and dance dvds, founded by Charles Woodford, son of Doris Humphrey. In the mid 1980s it acquired Dance Horizons, a 20-year-old publisher, and began using "Dance Horizons" as an imprint. At about the same time it became the distributor for the Dance Notation Bureau and for Dance Books Ltd., and began distributing videos. In 2000 it established a new imprint, Elysian Editions, to publish non-dance books.

In its current online and print catalogs there are 200 books and 350 dvds, making it the prime source in the world for dance-related materials. The print catalog is published annually, but the online catalog is updated periodically as new books and dvds become available. The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and Dance Advance (www.pcah.us/dance)

Dance Advance seeks to contribute to the cultivation of an artistically dynamic environment for dance. This visionary initiative was founded by The Pew Charitable Trusts in 1993 in order to provide financial support to Philadelphia's remarkable range of dance forms. The core activity of Dance Advance is the annual award of project-based grants to dance artists, companies, and presenters based in the five-county region of metropolitan Philadelphia. As with the other discipline-based initiatives supported by The Pew Charitable Trusts, the primary goal of Dance Advance is to enhance the cultural life of the greater Philadelphia community. With these goals in mind Dance Advance addresses the following priorities: 1) To fund dance projects that reveal the complexity, diversity, and creativity of dance as an art form; 2) To provide professional development opportunities for dance practitioners that will increase their artistic capacity; and 3) To increase discourse among audiences, artists and arts institutions both within and outside the region in the art and practice of dance.

Established in 2005 and located in Philadelphia, PA, The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage is dedicated to stimulating and supporting a vibrant cultural community in the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania area through its seven grant-making Initiatives. These include Dance Advance, Heritage Philadelphia Program, Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative, Pew Fellowships in the Arts, Philadelphia Music Project, Philadelphia Cultural Management Initiative, and Philadelphia Theatre Initiative. The Center is also a thriving nexus for the exchange of ideas in the fields of arts and heritage. Beyond its work as a unique and exemplary grantmaker in the arts, the Center is also a hub for the discussion, stimulation, and exchange of ideas around artistic expression and cultural interpretation.

ExploreDance.com is an on-line magazine covering a wide range of dance styles across the United States and beyond. ExploreDance.com is also the publisher of the world's only children's bedtime book about dance critics, Sweet Dreams, My Dance Critics.
