We have set up this blog to provide a place to post announcements, some of which are also sent to the membership as emails.

A blog is, essentially, a content management system that simplifies the process of posting and indexing items on a web site. Blogs tend to follow certain conventions regarding how posts are displayed. Blogs also tend to be characterized by short (100 to 200 word) spontaneous posts, but a site created with blogging software, such as the WordPress program we are using, does not have to have such content, and that is not our intention here.

The goal, at least initially, is to provide a place to post announcements, both those from the DCA and from other organizations of potential interest to DCA members, in a structured form. The DCA site is likely to evolve, with additional types of content added to the blog, new sections added (such as a bulletin board for discussions), and types of content moved from one section to another as may be warranted.

If you have suggestions of what should appear on the DCA blog, or other parts of the DCA site, I welcome your feedback.
